G-Worldwide After "KISS DANIEL"

Super talented singer, Kizz Daniel recently changed his name from ‘Kiss Daniel’, allegedly because of his court troubles with his ex-label who laid claim to his former name. However, the label has come out to say that despite the change of name, Kizz Daniel would still have to attend to the court case.
Only recently, the singer announced his new name ‘Kizz Daniel’ on Instagram with a post that embodied a text of the new name and the caption; “ Moving forward. Call me Kizz Daniel. ” Shortly after that it was reported that with the move he has nipped the legal battle with G-worldwide Entertainment in the bud.
However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Daniel’s former manager, Louiza Williams, stated that the singer’s recent action had no effect on the court case.
“ I actually did not know that he had changed his name until you told me. However, there is no big deal about that; it has nothing to do with the case, ” said the musician’s ex-manager.
“ The next court date is June 26. It is not true that the case has been settled; so, I don’t know where all those reports came from. If there was anything like that, I would be aware of it.
Though Kizz Daniel doesn’t come to court personally, his lawyers appear on his behalf and I am sure they pass relevant information across to him accordingly. The court ruled that both parties should maintain the status quo, but Kizz Daniel is doing what is best known to him, which is contrary to what the court ordered,” she added.
On what move G-Worldwide is considering, Williams said, “the company definitely has a plan but I cannot reveal anything for now.”

Gina Haspel New CIA Director

The Senate confirmed Gina Haspel on Thursday as the first female director of the CIA following a difficult nomination process that reopened an emotional debate about brutal interrogation techniques in one of the darkest chapters in the spy agency’s history.
The 54-45 vote split both parties, with six Democrats joining most Republicans in support. Republican senator John McCain, who has undergone treatment for brain cancer, was absent for the vote.
Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, called Donald Trump’s choice of Haspel to lead the agency “the right woman at the right time”.
McConnell steered the confirmation swiftly past opponents, including McCain, whose long-distance rejection of the nominee over her role in the CIA’s torture program hung over an impassioned debate.
Before voting, McConnell said Haspel “demonstrated candor, integrity, and a forthright approach” throughout the confirmation process and “has quietly earned the respect and admiration” of intelligence community leaders at
CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, and abroad.
Supporters cited Haspel’s 33-year career at the agency. Former top intelligence officials said she earned the chance to take the helm of the intelligence agency.
But Haspel’s nomination was contentious because of her role in a former CIA program to brutally detain and interrogate terror suspects at covert sites abroad following 9/11.
Her opponents said it wasn’t right to promote someone who supervised a black site in Thailand. They said the US needs to close the book forever on the program that marred America’s image with allies abroad.
Several senators said Haspel was not forthcoming in answering questions about her role in the torture program or the CIA’s decision to destroy videotaped evidence of the sessions. They also had questions about her rejection of the now-banned techniques.
Democrat Ron Wyden said in a floor speech that Haspel “offered up almost the classic Washington nonapology”.
He asked how the Senate could take seriously Haspel’s “conversion on torture”. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Jeff Flake of Arizona were among the Republicans who voted against Haspel.
Among Democrats supporting Haspel are several who are up for re-election this fall in states where Trump is popular, including Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Joe Donnelly of Indiana and Bill Nelson of Florida. Other Democrats voting yes were Mark Warner of Virginia, the top Democrat on the intelligence committee and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.
Other Trump-state Democrats, though, including Doug Jones of Alabama, opposed the nominee. Most other Democrats, including those eyeing presidential runs in 2020, voted against Haspel in what may become a defining issue for Democrats.
Jones said this week that “it’s just hard to get over” the torture issue.
A protester in the Senate visitor gallery briefly disrupted speeches ahead of the vote with shouts against the CIA.
Haspel, 61, is a native of Kentucky but grew up around the world as the daughter of an air force serviceman. She worked undercover for nearly all her three decades at the CIA in Africa, Europe and classified locations around the globe.
Haspel received robust backing from former intelligence, diplomatic, military and national security officials. Among those who supported her nomination were six former CIA directors and three former national intelligence directors .
On the opposing side are groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union, which says she should have stood up against the interrogation practices then. More than 100 former US ambassadors who served both Republican and Democratic presidents sent the Senate a letter opposing Haspel, saying that despite her credentials, confirming her would give authoritarian leaders around the world the license to say US behavior is “no different from ours”.

Barely a week ago, the news that Davido bought a private jet was trending on social media platforms and the singer enjoyed the raved but it has been revealed now that Davido lied. According to The Capital, the pop star didn’t actually buy a private jet.
News outlet, The Capital reports that ‘what Davido went on air to announce is actually “fractional ownership” in which his financial commitment in the arrangement is meagre while the major financiers have chosen to play down their involvement to give Davido conceded prominence.’
The report further stated that the arrangement of conceding prominence to Davido in the private jet ownership was made to make the singer appear very bankable in the showbiz industry. The deal was structured ‘to present Davido as a viable brand with a view to cornering lucrative deals from multinational businesses, countries and other foreign entities.’
It was also stated that those who spinned the Davido jet ownership narrative agreed on a sharing formula with the singer, such that they are entitled to a share of the money once it starts to flow in. The report has it that the plan is for the jet to attend to Davido’s peripatetic needs and those of others in need of it, upon its delivery.

Davido and Tiwa Savage have been announced amongst the nominees for the 2018 BET Awards. The nominees’ list was made public on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 and the two pop stars were listed in the Best International Act category.
The 2018 BET Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 25, 2018, at the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, United States.
The organizers of the awards published the list of nominees for the respective categories and the one of most interest to Nigerians is the category for Best International Music Act, which features Davido and Tiwa Savage amongst other first-rate artistes across the world.
In 2014 Davido claimed the award for BET Best International Act: Africa, beating Diamond Platnumz, Mafikizolo, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage and Toofan. The DMW singer is a favorite for this year’s edition of the award.
